Sisters Noir – a celebration of powerful women in cinema

There’s not a whole lot there at the moment, but I’ve finally put one of my other projects – “Sisters Noir”, live online. I’ve been toying with the idea since around October/November ‘08, trying to come up with what exactly I can do with it. So far there are a few details on a few actresses (Audrey Hepburn, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Helen Mirren, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson). The list of actresses had originally been much larger, but then I worked out there was no way I could write about them all, and even a few would take time (the current info on the actresses still needs fleshing out in a big way). As I said, it’s not much, but I do have some big(ger) plans for Sisters Noir like feature articles over the coming months (one being an in-depth discussion on Lara Croft and Tomb Raider in both the movies and the video games). With these features it should become more of a glossy e-zine rather than a simple list or encyclopedia. If anyone has any ideas they’d like to share I’d like to hear them. After all, I’d like it to evolve into a sort of community project.
