Well it’s nearly Christmas, which will be nice (hopefully). I’ve been working on getting a bunch more content up on Dwardus Prime, like the gallery pages and bits of Vika Noir.

I’ll probably do a couple of blogs before Christmas, but just in case I forget, have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous start to 2009!

That’s right, I’m doing the Christmas thing. It’s actually not that early, we should all probably be thinking about buying gifts and that sort of thing. Another year, guh! For the festive season I’ve made Dwardus Prime a little more cheery. Expect more content shortly, including additions to the Vika Noir mythology.

You will also notice the bloody big RSS logo over there > so you can subscribe if you like. There’s another over at the Sandwich Man webcomic to subscribe to so you never miss a page.

I’ve watched a few good films lately, including There Will be Blood, Pure, and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. I’ll add some new reviews in the coming weeks. I’ve been in more of a reading phase this past week or two. I’m mainly reading instructional/informative books like The Writer’s Journey by Christopher Vogler as recommended by Silja. It’s a great book if you’re interested in writing screenplays or novels or are just interested in the structure of story telling. I have also bought a book called How to Write and Sell Short Stories by Della Galton but as I’ve been focussing on my “big” story (hopefully my first novel, but let’s play it down for now, eh) I’ll read this at a later date.

New Sandwich Man page coming right up. Have a nice christmas song. Laters!

I was going to fill you in on what I’ve been up to but that can wait ’til later. I’ll cut to the chase:

I lost about a week’s worth of data and as you can see I’ve had to repost some of my blogs (found them cached on Google). Unfortunately I have lost my correspondance with Sean in the process, though we talked a little Kirill via email which was nice. More updates on Kirill later.

the Sandwich Man

Being down was a blow for the comic. Links pages and new FAQ stuff are down etc, needs restyling. Guh. Never mind. This won’t take too long I suppose.

Gotta dash! laters.

You may have noticed Dwardus Prime has been out of action for the last four or so days. This has been due to unacceptable downtime from a previous host (we've now moved, though you won't see any difference apart from hopefully, more uptime!). Luckily, the day before this occurred I made a back up of all my files (my site, this blog etc). I am so happy I did this, because I was able to move all my files over and after a few tests, get the databases all linked up again (for the blog etc). I won't name any names to boycott, but I'm pretty annoyed that my previous hosts treated us like that. We (everyone signed up with them) should be compensated. Think I'll send them a stinking email later as they never apologised. Seriously though, always make backups, I must have done it without thinking (the way it should be) and it saved me a ton more grief. Back up your files, back up your family - through the "miracle" of cloning. Not that I condone cloning, I'm impartial so as not to get into some sort of ethical debate here when he have other things to discuss. Now all that excitement is done with there will be more updates to follow shortly.

Today I'm shirking my blogging and fobbing you off with this post about nothing in particular. I've been working on making my site W3C compliant which is a good exercise if you're a budding web developer. I haven't really done much writing in the last few days, and once again the weekend flew by. It's feeling a lot more like winter these days. The clocks went back an hour and confused me, and tonight I got warm and comfy and watched Spooks (ruthless lot!) and Dead Set. I hope to have more updates to the Sandwich Man comic shortly, which is already the favourite of one member (fluke?)! hopefully soon the comic will drive traffic here. What I really need is to populate my website with decent text, Dwardus Prime is a little lacking at present. My two other projects that will appear soon - Love in the Time of Zombies and Sisters Noir will hopefully also generate some interest.
