Sisters Noir – a celebration of powerful women in cinema

There’s not a whole lot there at the moment, but I’ve finally put one of my other projects – “Sisters Noir”, live online. I’ve been toying with the idea since around October/November ‘08, trying to come up with what exactly I can do with the idea. So far there are a few details on a few actresses (Audrey Hepburn, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Helen Mirren, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson). As I said, it’s not much, but I do have some big(ger) plans for Sisters Noir and hopefully the few feature articles over the coming months (one being an in-depth discussion on Lara Croft and Tomb Raider in both the movies and the video games). If anyone has any ideas they’d like to share I’d like to hear them. After all, I’d like it to eventually evolve into a sort of community project.

Let’s remake everything!

It looks like Spielberg’s remaking it with Will Smith though. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of the stuff those guys have come up with, but at the end of the day why bother? if you keep the story the same it’ll only ever be a cheap (or probably rather expensive) knock-off, but if you change it it may as well be something completely different.
